[S2] EPISODE 4: A SERIOUS WAKE-UP CALL
In this episode, Blaque sits with Jabulile of Men Speak With Jabulile who grew up believing that men were unreliable, untrustworthy, and ultimately dispensable in marriage. Raised by a feminist mother who lowered her expectations of men and was discipled by a divorced female pastor who unknowingly passed down unhealthy marital habits, she entered marriage with a mindset that slowly unravelled her relationship. But when divorce forced her to confront her own shortcomings, she realized a sobering truth—her expectations, beliefs, and behaviours had contributed just as much to the breakdown of her marriage as her ex-husband’s actions.
Now, after deep personal work and accountability, Jabu is on a mission to change the conversation. Instead of silencing men, she wants to empower them to speak up, lead with confidence, and take their rightful place in shaping stronger marriages and families. Through her journey, she’s discovered that men aren’t the problem—silencing them is. In this episode, she shares what she’s learned, the painful realisations she faced, and why she now believes that men hold the key to changing the future of marriages in our country.
If you’ve ever felt unheard in your marriage or struggled with the weight of unrealistic expectations, if you're a husband struggling to be heard, or a wife who wants to understand marriage from a new perspective, this episode is for you. Join us as we unpack the lessons Jabulile learned the hard way and explore how husbands can reclaim their voice, their role, and their impact in building thriving marriages.

[S2] EPISODE 3: FEELING STUCK, FEELING LOST?
In this raw and honest episode, Blaque and Lilly dive deep into the complexities of marriage and personal growth. They reflect on the emotional struggles that can lie beneath the surface of everyday issues, like domestic chores, and how these seemingly small tasks often carry larger emotional weight. Through humor and vulnerability, they discuss how unresolved fears—like the fear of losing control or not being enough—can manifest in ways that affect your commitment to your partner.
The episode also highlights the importance of nurturing both yourself and your marriage. Blaque and Lilly emphasize how prioritizing your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being can transform your relationship. The concept of weekly check-ins provides a practical way to address tension before it builds up, creating a proactive approach to marriage.
The conversation goes deeper as they explore how subconscious patterns, shaped by our upbringing, can influence how we show up in our relationships. They discuss the delicate balance between “expecting the worst” and fully committing to your spouse, creating space for openness, honesty, and connection.
This episode will make you think about your own approach to marriage, especially when it comes to leadership and self-care. How do you care for yourself while leading your family? How do your habits and fears shape your commitment? Don’t miss this heartfelt conversation!.

[S2] EPISODE 2: YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO HONEST
In this episode, we explore the highs and lows of navigating marriage and faith as Charlie opens up about his journey of growth and intentionality in every area of life. From the struggles to the breakthroughs, his honest reflections on marriage highlight the importance of being intentional, especially when it comes to creating peace and emotional security at home. It’s easy to overlook these foundational elements, but Charlie beautifully shows how the effort of nurturing a home that’s rooted in love and faith leads to a stronger bond and a deeper connection with his wife. His message about building a marriage centered around spiritual and emotional growth resonates deeply with any man seeking to lead in this way.
The conversation takes a powerful turn when Charlie speaks about stewarding his singleness before marriage. His reminder that there’s no rush to jump into relationships without first understanding the value of working on yourself is a critical lesson for younger men. Too often, society pressures us to test the waters of life before we’ve even learned to manage our own emotional and spiritual health. His message encourages men to lean into this season of singleness as a time for personal growth, so they can enter relationships and marriages with a healthier, more intentional mindset.
The episode also takes a vulnerable look at how faith plays an integral role in overcoming the challenges of marriage. Charlie shares how leaning on God and supporting each other in marriage has led to significant personal growth. He’s transparent about the hard moments and the work it takes to nurture a healthy marriage, encouraging men to seek support when needed and remain authentic in their relationships. This conversation is a powerful reminder that becoming the man God created you to be requires commitment, humility, and an openness to grow every single day.

[S2] EPISODE 1: REPAIRABLE MISTAKE
Have you ever looked at those couples who seem to navigate life in perfect sync and wondered, “What’s their secret?” The truth is, it’s not magic—it’s intentional living. For so many of us in South Africa, where cultural diversity and unique challenges shape our relationships, this practice can be the difference between thriving together and growing apart. In this video, we’re exploring what it takes to align your dreams, values, and goals with your partner, creating a shared vision that keeps your relationship grounded and purposeful.
Unmet expectations—or worse, uncommunicated ones—are often the invisible threads pulling couples apart. You might think it’s about money or intimacy, but those are often just symptoms of deeper frustrations. Maybe you feel stuck in a career that can’t support your dreams, or perhaps unspoken resentments are spilling into the bedroom. The drift doesn’t always start with a big fight; sometimes, it’s the slow erosion of connection as life pulls you in different directions. But here’s the good news: intentional living can be the anchor that keeps you together through every season.
In this episode, we’re giving you practical tools to realign as a couple. From identifying shared values to setting goals and scheduling regular check-ins, this is about more than just surviving—it’s about thriving together. We’ll share real insights and a take-home challenge to help you start aligning your vision today. Because when your marriage is rooted in purpose, it doesn’t just transform your relationship; it becomes a testimony of unity and hope for your family, your community, and yes, for South Africa. Let’s take that first intentional step—together.

[S1] EPISODE 36: UNDER SCRUTINY

In this episode of That Husband Podcast, we sit down with Priviledge to reflect on his first 11 months of marriage. We discuss the reality of early marriage, the disconnect between expectations and the challenges that arise, and the growth that comes with working through those struggles. Privilege shares how his idealised views on marriage have been reshaped by experience, leading him to greater self-awareness and a deeper understanding of love.
The conversation delves into the messy but rewarding process of navigating conflicts and learning how to show up fully in a relationship, all while figuring out how to love better. We then explore the evolving roles of husbands in today’s world, discussing the need for clear communication and flexibility in how responsibilities are shared.
We tackle the generational shift in marriage dynamics, where today's husbands are more involved in household tasks and childcare, but also face new challenges without traditional role models. The conversation highlights the importance of sacrificial love versus compromising love and how marriage requires both partners to adjust their expectations and align on a shared vision. We emphasize that true leadership in marriage is about guiding your wife toward Christ, not demanding submission.
With a focus on growth, mutual respect, and faith, the episode provides valuable insights into how husbands can embrace their roles as leaders, partners, and spiritual heads of their households. We encourage men to approach marriage with realistic expectations, understanding that the difficult moments can strengthen their bond and lead to deeper love.
It’s a reminder that being a husband is a God-given mandate, and through love, patience, and continuous growth, husbands can build a strong foundation for their marriages.
